The Sai Youth and Devotees from Chennai and other Districts of Tamil Nadu had embarked on a "Pavitra Parthi Pada Yatra" which was flagged off from Swami’s Abode at Chennai, “Sundaram” on 22 12 2016, by Padmashree Dr V Mohan, Trustee, Sri Sathya Sai Central Trust, along with Sri G Varadhan, State President of Sri Sathya Sai Seva Organizations, Tamil Nadu.
Over 50 Youth and Devotees took part in this Pavitra Parthi Pada Yatra, and they have covered the entire distance of about 370 KMs by Walk over a 10 day period. A separate team of 20 members provided all the logistical support throughout the journey.
The Pada Yatra Team has arrived Puttaparthi on 31 12 2016 Evening.
Bhagawan’s Chariot/palanquin along with the Pada Yatra Team were accorded a Grand Ceremonial Reception into Sai Kulwant Hall at 08 00 AM on 01 01 2017, Sunday.
The main objective of this Pada Yatra was to spread the Glory, Messages and Teachings of Bhagawan, besides showcasing some of the major Public Welfare Projects that Swami had undertaken. This objective was achieved through:
Ø A well decorated Swami’s Chariot Van was leading the Pada Yatris, with a Public Address system and was playing Sai Bhajans at all the stoppage points, which were invariably smaller towns and villages along the way
Ø Video Shows were conducted at 3 of the stoppage points, covering some of the Public Welfare Projects and Institutions of Bhagawan. This included Videos about the Super Specialty Hospitals, Mobile Hospital Seva, Chennai Water Project, Swami’s Educational Institutions, etc.
Ø Pamphlets were distributed at the towns and villages where the Yatris were staying (both the afternoon and the night halt places)
Ø Sathsang sessions were conducted at 5 locations along the way, including twice at schools
Ø About 50 Blankets were distributed to needy persons
Ø Swami’s Photo and Prasadam were distributed at all places where the Youth were staying during the Pada Yatra
