The two day National Convention of All India Bal Vikas Alumni and Group III Students for the year 2015 got underway at the Poornachandra Auditorium this morning in Prasanthi Nilayam.
The 90-minute inaugural session commenced with lighting of the lamp. The session that ensued had presentations by various state units, Bihar, Jharkhand, Haryana and Manipur followed by an inspiring speech by Sri Ajit Popat from the United Kingdom.
Twin Band offerings by Andhra Pradesh Bal Vikas and the Bal Vikas of Alike, Karnataka set the proceedings on for the evening session in Sai Kulwant Hall. Vedic incantation by the Odisha Bal Vikas next was followed by a group song by All India Bal Vikas.
All India Vice President of Sri Sathya Sai Seva Organisations, Sri Nimish Pandya then addressed the alumni deliberating on the unsullied beauty called Bal Vikas.
Representing the Bal Vikas fraternity, selected alumni from different states shared their thoughts next.
A compendium on the epochal movement was placed at Bhagawan’s Lotus Feet by Ms Kamala Pandya, Dy National Coordinator on the occasion, releasing the same.
A custom over the past three years, several ‘in-house’ alumni working with various allied institutions were felicitated next, honoring their commitment to Bhagawan.
The final programme for the evening was a series of Musical offerings by Bal Vikas units from Kerala, West Bengal and Madhya Pradesh. Before the commencement of the programme, two selected little ‘mascots’, Master Sathya from Himachal Pradesh and Master Sai Tejas from Karnataka were invited to ‘chirp’ as to “why they love Bal Vikas?”. Even as the twin little ones squeaked on the public address system, in their naïve innocence, the assembly went into raptures appreciating the beauty of innocence.
Bhajans continued and ended with Mangala Arathi at 1930 hrs.
