The first batch of Burrakatha trio, Sai Prabhakar, Sar Raghuram and Aravind Sai, presented a Burrakatha session this evening on the illustrious life story of Shirdi Sai Baba, as revealed by Baba.
Burrakatha sessions in Prasanthi hold a special significance, as, on most occasions, it is Baba who 'demands' the same, selecting the theme and title by Himself. Ever since it’s grand entry into the precincts of Prasanthi Nilayam, this popular folk art of Andhra Pradesh has earned the status of ‘Divine Folklore’, earning the attention and grace of Baba.
The trio blessed to be the ‘originators’ by being the first batch of burrakatha students, had been parading their skills in the distinctive art with constant blessings, guidance and encouragements from Baba. Prasanthi has witnessed number of such Burrakatha sessions over the past 3-4 years, enacting epical incidents in the Divine presence. The trio were trained by Sri Krishna Bhaskar from BHEL who had the rare blessing of conducting Burrakatha sessions for Baba during early years.
The innovative style of presentation that had the narrators telling the story in conversations interspersed with jovial remarks along with soulful rendering lasted an hour and fifty minutes.
Bhajans continued and ended with Thursday Special "Prema Muditha Manasey Kaho..." by Baba.
