Press Release by Sri Sathya Sai Central Trust

October 05, 2014

Sri Sathya Sai General Hospital, the first of Bhagawan Baba's Temple of Healing, turned 59 yesterday.

Precisely it was on 4th October 1956 that, this holy institution was pressed into service by Bhagawan. Ever since, it has been a saga of selfless, relentless service, holding aloft Bhagawan Baba’s maxim, “Love All Serve All”. Celebrating the joyous occasion, staff from Sri Sathya Sai General Hospital presented a musical evening today here in Prasanthi Nilayam. The programme was studded with devotional songs and Bhajans.

Entitled “Samarpan”, the dedicative offering was themed on the concept of Bhagawan as Ultimate Sadguru, understanding His ‘Para Tattwa’, all-pervasive Divinity.

The programme commenced with an invocatory Guru Vandana, “Brahmanandam Paramasukhadam...” paying obeisance at the Lotus Feet; the next offering was a piece of gratitude, “Vachanandame Sai...”. Singing paeans to Jagat Guru, Guru strotra followed next, sung with passionate devotion. Shunning the ego-centric life man should traverse the God-centric path to satiate his precious human sojourn. Echoing this sentiment, the next dedication was Bhagawan Baba’s own composition, “Sathya Dharmamu Shanthi Premalatho…”. A Kannada composition by Sage Purandaradasa followed next, reminding man of his innate Divinity that, he is verily the reflection of the Supreme Godhood.

Winding up, two Bhajans followed, not before explaining the unquestionable purport of ‘Bhajans’ in Prasanthi Nilayam. It was said that, quoting Bhagawan that, in Prasanthi Nilayam every Bhajan that one attends is equivalent to attending 108 Ashwamedha Yagas. The fifty minute presentation was interspersed with lucid commentary, explaining each song and purport in detail.

Rightly, to hold on to Him with a permanent relation one should seek Him as Supreme Teacher. Verily this evening was an eye-opener for the grand congregation and for the devotees in general, that, the staff of Sri Sathya Sai General Hospital sent across the message of absolute significance of Guru worship of Bhagawan Sri Sathya Sai, understanding Him as the innate Divinity shining in each one of them.

Bhajans continued and ended with Bhagawan singing in HIS Golden Voice  - “Sunday Special”-Subramaniam Subramaniam….

Mangala Arathi at 1815 hrs. marked the end of the proceedings.
