Surgical Microscope Zeiss Lumera i inaugurated at SSSIHMS
A new state of the art Surgical Microscope Zeiss Lumera i, worth Rs. 50 lakh was inaugurated in the Ophthalmology department of the Sri Sathya Sai Institute of Higher Medical Sciences, Prasanthigram on Tuesday.
The microscope was inaugurated by the Trustees of Sri Sathya Sai Central Trust, Sri R J Rathnakar and Sri Prasada Rao in the presence of the Director of SSSIHMS, Prasanthigram, Dr Gurumurthy.
A surgical microscope is a vital part of any ophthalmic surgical setup and is used to perform a variety of ophthalmology surgeries.
The Zeiss Lumera i Microscope is one of the highest grade ophthalmology microscopes available. This microscope can be used for performing complicated anterior and posterior segment surgeries and is also equipped with facilities like retro illumination, co-axial and re-sight viewing system, which help in better visualization for complicated eye surgeries. The state-of-the-art instrument is also an excellent teaching aid. The microscope was imported from Germany.
Speaking on the occasion, Sri Rathnakar said that this new Microscope will be a boon to all the patients, who visit the hospital for eye treatment and the inauguration of the this new microscope re-affirms the commitment of the Sri Sathya Sai Central Trust towards Bhagawan Sri Sathya Sai Baba’s Health Mission.
Echoing similar sentiments Trustee Sri Prasada Rao said the SSSCT is committed to upgrade the facilities of the all the institutions founded by Bhagawan Baba from time to time and this new surgical microscope is an example of the same.
