Eswaramma Day Celebrations
Prasanthi Nilayam affectionately committed to the memory of well-regarded Mother Eswaramma today, on Eswaramma day that marks the physical ascent of the ‘Divine Mother’. Marking the occasion, a special function was held at the Mother Eswaramma Samadhi Mandir, outside the Ashram precincts. Floral offering and bhajans were followed by Narayana Seva.
On this occasion, an Elegantly Engraved Granite stone was unveiled, depicting the brief life history of Mother Eswaramma and Sri Pedda Venkama Raju, by Sri RJ Rathnakar Trustee of SSSCT.
Marvelous Shamiana/Pandal arrangements were made on this occasion by SSSSO Tamilnadu at the Samadhi premises.
Baba exhorts the devotees, especially children, to revere the mother as God. Hence, this day is a celebration of the sacred ideal of Motherhood. Bhagawan Baba has said innumerable times that the mother is man’s first preceptor (Guru). Mother Eswaramma is the example of an ideal mother. On May 6, Eswaramma day is celebrated around the world by remembering her exemplary life, performing acts of selfless service to the needy, and singing the glories of God.
Vedam Chanting, Bhajans and Arati, marked the end of morning session at Sai Kulwanth hall at 0930 Hrs.
In the evening, Vedam chanting commenced at 1700 Hrs. Then, the Members of Prasanthi Bhajan Group offered a Music programme bringing alive the glory of Mother Eswaramma through moving songs interspersed with insightful commentary. They began with glorifying the Lord of the Universe, who is the Mother of all and went to share how even the Mother of the Universe needs a mother when He decides to come in human form. And in three Telugu songs described the matchless virtues and purity of Mother Eswaramma. Finally they offered gratitude to their Mother Sai for filling them with Grace and prayed that their every emotion should transform into devotion.
After this devotees had the visual feast of seeing Bhagawan, narrate the story of HIS birth and the greatness of Mother Eswaramma. “There is no Sai Baba without Eswaramma”, Bhagawan declared.
The programme concluded with Bhagawan singing “Hari Bhajana Bina”’…. followed by Mangala Arati at 1855 Hrs.
