ONAM CELEBRATIONS - DAY 2

Continuing with the festive spirit of ongoing 3-day Onam celebrations, Balvikas children from Aleppey district presented a

45-minute dance

program on this cool evening here in Prasanthi Nilayam. The children began the dance program with the first bhajan sung by our beloved Baba, 'Manasa Bhajare Guru Charanam', followed by popular devotional songs in various languages. The program aptly ended with the dance for the bhajan "Nache Bhola nath".

Earlier the scheduled evening program commenced at 1700 hrs. with two speeches by Hon’ble justice Sri P. B. Suresh Kumar, Kerala High Court and Sri B. Satish Chandra, Alumnus of SSSIHL and currently working in Super Specialty hospital, Whitefield.

Addressing first, Hon’ble Justice Sri P. B Suresh Kumar of Kerala High Court, former Balavikas student and a long time devotee of Baba shared his experiences as to how Baba has been guiding him personally and professionally too. Speaking with great humility, the Hon'ble Judge mentioned about his current position as a great opportunity to serve the deserving in the country. He has also narrated how Baba in His own inimitable style solved a couple of professional hindrances helping him to move from Kerala to Delhi, to practice at the Supreme Court Of India. The learned speaker quoted from Baba's one of the Onam discourses, that one has to be good instead of being great.

Sri B Sathish Chandra of SSSIHMS, Whitefield was the second speaker for the evening. An alumnus of SSSIHL, Satheesh Chandra had undertaken a unique task of traversing the length and breadth of Kerala on a bicycle, carrying Bhagawan's Love, meeting up post-operative patients coming under SRP, Sai Rehabilitation Programme for cardiac patients.

Sri Sathish Chandra spoke about his unique experiences during his arduous ‘love’ filled journey from Kasargode to Thiruvananthapuram and then to Kanyakumari.

Bhajans continued and ended with Mangala Arathi at 1850 hrs.

Tomorrow is Thiruvonam, the day on which, as per the legend, Emperor Mahabali returns to the State, once in every year.
