Today, on the second day of Parthi Yathra, the folk artists from Rajasthan presented a Musical concert entitled “Padharo Mahare Des” – meaning - ‘O Lord, come to our Land’. A group of Artists belonging to Manganiyar community from the Barmer district, mesmerized the assembly of audience at Sai Kulwanth hall, with the scintillating performance of Rajasthani Folk music.
Commencing with Ganesh Vandana... the troupe presented songs in praise of Lord Krishna, Rama, Shiva and Sri Sathya Sai.... Apart from using Dholak, Harmoniam, Sarangi, the troupe played on the century old instrument Kamachya and Khadtal. The last song of the concert "Padharo Mahare Des..." literally fascinated the Audience. This group of Folk Artists have extensively travelled in abroad too in more than 60 countries. The Captain of this group Sri Anwar Khan has been the recipient of many awards that include the Prestigious President award.
Earlier, the evening proceedings at Sai Kulwanth hall set in motion with Veda Chanting at 1630 hrs, followed by Musical concert by Sri Anwar Khan and Troupe, after the brief introduction of the session by Sri KM Ganesh.
Bhajans continued next, that followed with Mangala Arathi at 1830 Hrs, marked the end of the proceedings.
