Buddha Pournima Celebrations-Day 2
Second day of Buddha Pournima celebrations by Buddhist Countries commenced at 1720 Hrs, here at Sai Kulwanth hall, Prasanthi Nilayam, with an address by Sister Bhavna Bhavani, Dy Central Co-ordinator of Zone 5, SSIO, Sis Bhavani outlined on the Five Noble Truth and 8 Fold path of the Teachings of Lord Buddha.
Earlier at 1700 Hrs Veda Chanting commenced.
Prof Lakshman Watawala from Srilanka was the next speaker, who spoke on Singalovada Sutha a discourse by Budhha to Sigala, a son of multi millionaire on the Layperson’s code of Discipline.
The Divine discourse of beloved Bhagawan Baba was aired through the Public address system, where Swami had highlighted the teachings of Lord Buddha.
The Musical Skit (Krishna Sudama Milan) was presented next, by the Balavikas Children of Nepal depicted the comradeship and love of Lord Krishna towards His childhood friend Sudama. True Love does not distinguish between high and low status or between rich and poverty. Therefore today, even after thousands of years the friendship of Lord Krishna and Sudama is remembered all over the world as a symbol of True Love. This followed by a Dance by the Children from Laos.
Dance on the National song of Nepal was presented next by the group of children from Nepal.
Bhajans followed by Arati at 1855 Hrs marked the end of Two days grand Celebrations of Buddha Poournima.
