This evening, at Prasanthi Nilayam, students from Sri Sathya Sai Prashanti Divine Valley school Dibrugarh and Shri Sathya Sai Vidya Vihar, Golaghat , both affiliated to Vidhyavahini from Assam State, presented  dance  dramas  titled “ Yuga Nayak” and “Sehi Gunanidhi Sankardeva” .

Mahapurusha  Sri Srimanta Shankardeva, a saint scholar,  playwright, social-religious reformer, who lived  for 120 years  between 1449 AD to 1568 AD, transformed the cultural and religious history of Assam. As a poet, educationist he could pass on the essence of Vedas, Upanishads and Bhagvad Gita in a simple, understandable form to the common man. Living as an embodiment of love, he could carry the people with him and could create a religion “ Ek sharan Nama Dharma” that gave shape to set of new values, such as Ahimsa, Shanti and Dharma, preaching devotion to a single God-Lord Krishna.

The dance sequences presented by the students of these two schools, were based on the ethical values preached by Saint Sankara deva and concluded with a sequence from Ramayana, where youths Lord Rama and Lakshmana could kill the demons, guided by Sage Viswamithra, highlighting the Service to Guru with devotion alone could help annihilation of the demonic qualities in human beings.

The session concluded with Bhajan “Manasa Bhajare Guru Charanam” sung by Bhagwan and Mangala Aarathi.
