Today, on the penultimate evening of the ongoing Onam festivity, where the whole of Kerala is eagerly awaiting the symbolic arrival of its erstwhile Emperor, beautiful children from Sri Sathya Sai Vidya Vihar, Aluva presented a dance drama entitled "Onam with Mother Sai". The drama presentation this evening was preceded by twin talks by two eminent bureaucrats, Sri K Jayakumar, IAS (Retd) former Chief Secretary to Govt of Kerala and currently Vice Chancellor of Malayalam University and Sri KR Jyotilal, IAS, Secretary to Govt of Kerala.
Addressing first, Sri Jayakumar elucidated on the grandeur and significance of Onam festivity. Touching upon the legend of Onam, that of Emperor Bali's exit to the NeitherWorld at the 'Hands' of Lord Vamana, the learned speaker identified the import of the Vamana Act to be in synchronicity with the Vedic proclamation, Isavasyam Idam Jagath. Recalling the nostalgic beauty of golden Onam of yester years, the speaker lamented at the current plight of the festivity that has been converted into a shopping festival in modern times. Of the 4-Vedic Institutions of Dharma, Artha, Kama, Moksha, man today is immersed in Artha and Kama leaving away the high profile Dharma and Moksha, opined Sri Jayakumar exhorting the people of Kerala to do a Mahabali, by surrendering their ego at the Feet of Beloved Bhagawan.
Sri KR Jyotilal, in his speech, identified the message of Onam that being... never go back from your promises, never think of evil, surrender your ego, etc. With effective word pun the speaker highlighted on the need to move from IAS to SAI, explaining the acronyms well within the Sai Perspective. He then narrated a beautiful Sai experience, as narrated to him recently by one of the top Railway Board officials in Delhi.
The drama next was in line with the Prasanthi students drama, featuring Lord Narada and Emperor Mahabali, wherein the Emperor was Mahabali, was taken to the South at Puttaparthi to witness the Beauty Beyond Compare called Sri Sathya Sai Prasanthi Nilayam, and thus revealing the story of Onam With Swami.
Filled and fulfilled to heart's content, the Emperor submits a final prayer at His Lotus Feet, beseeching to grant His Darshan. Lord Vamana yet again makes His appearance only to enlighten the already enlightened Emperor that in this present age, Bhagawan Sri Sathya Sai uses His most potent LOVE weapon to help realize the whole of humanity that Pathaala is not a distant land, but the deep recess of every single heart. The drama presentation was studded with colorful songs and dance sequences.
Bhajans next ended with Mangala Arathi at 1840 hrs.
