The Evening celebrations of Onam commenced at 1630 Hrs with Veda Chanting by Kerala Group in Sai Kulwanth Hall, here in Prasanthi Nilayam today. This was followed by an inspiring speech by Sri KNA Khader, Secretary, Indian Union Muslim League. In his short speech, the speaker emphasized on the Unity in Diversity and oneness with God. Sri Sathya Sai Baba is the incarnation of Pure Love; the great Emperor of Mahabali is being brought to Prasanthi Nilayam before Bhagawan Baba on this Onam day, by the people of Kerala, for him to remerge in HIM. He added that a real Muslim is one who accepts and respects all religions and spread Love.
The distribution of Gold Medals followed next to the winners of Essay Competition held in 1100 institutions, in which 33,000 students participated from High Schools, Higher Secondary Schools and Colleges, across Kerala.
The following topics were given for the Essay Competition

· PRESEVING NATURE FOR THE FUTURE GENERATION
· ROLE OF YOUTH IN NATION BUILDING
The following are winners of the Competitions
· Kum Hefna C – Malappuram District bagged First Prize – High School level.
· Kum Adharsha R- Malappuram District bagged the First prize – Higher Secondary School level.
· Kum Shaija P S- from Kollam District bagged the First Prize –College level.
All the above winners were presented, with Sri Sathya Sai Gold Medals, by Sri R J Rathnakar, Trustee, Sri Sathya Sai Central Trust, in a prestigious function held at Sai Kulwanth Hall, this evening. All the 3 winners have spoken on this occasion briefly after the distribution of Prizes.
This was followed by the Divine Nectarine Discourse of Bhagawan Baba, which was aired through the Public Address system.
Followed by a Musical concert by Sri Ramesh Sadasiva from Ernakulam District, the 6 day long ONAM celebrations by Sri Sathya Sai Seva Organizations, Kerala, offered at the Divine Lotus feet of Bhagawan, culminated with soul stirring Bhajan.
Mangala Arati at 19 20 Hrs marked the end of outstanding week long Onam celebrations here at Prasanthi Nilayam.
Earlier in the forenoon, a delicious ONAM SADYA was arranged by Sri Sathya Sai Seva Organisations, Kerala and over 12,500 devotees had Onam Feast, which was offered as Prasadam, from Bhagawan.
