Drama by SSSIHL - Prasanthi Nilayam Campus

The Annual Sports & Cultural Festivity for the year 2016-17 came to a grand culmination this evening marked by a drama presentation by the Prasanthi Nilayam campus here, in Prasanthi Nilayam.

The presentation entitled "Bhakti Pravaham" this evening was a fine portrayal of the essence of heart's pure and pristine content called 'Selfless Love'. Rituals are mere lamp-posts, but real Bhakti or devotion comes from the deep core of one's heart, with heartfelt devotion suffused with selfless sacrifice and love.

The story depicted was themed after Kannappa's unflinching devotion to Lord Shiva, the chechu hunter turned exalted devotee, whose would dare to offer his eye to a bleeding Shivalinga, in which Kannappa could see his Shiva.

Leading to the final story, the presentation first sailed through Lankesh Ravana's adventure at Kailash, daring the warning of Nandi, suffused with bloated ego. Nandi being obedient and loyal to his Master, enlightens a 'fused-out' Ravana of the folly, narrating the arrogant Daksha story. Even as Ravana who was so close to the Lord, who could sing for the Lord with his Rudra Veena to manifest Him physically, transcending body consciousness, finally fails to capitalise the direct presence and boon offered, falling for trivial worldly desire, Nandi was give a lesson of insight into the true devotion by Lord Shiva HimSelf, narrating the illustrious story of Kannappa, 'who  was one of the 63 Nayanmars or holy Saivite saints, the staunch devotees of Lord Shiva.

The presentation was aided by multimedia backdrop and was entwined with beautiful, virulent dance sequences.

Bhajans next ended with Mangala Arathi to Bhagawan.
