A new laundry built at the cost of around 1.6 crores was inaugurated at the Sri Sathya Sai Institute of Higher Medical Sciences, Prasanthigram, on 14th September 2015, Monday.
The fully automated laundry is spread across 4000 sq feet area, within the hospital campus and will dramatically increase the efficiency of the laundry. The fully computerized equipment will also help in reducing the time taken to provide sterile apparel to the surgeons and patients alike.
Further, the new automated machines will reduce the energy consumption greatly.
The extra area in the laundry will help in smoother flow of hospital laundry in and out of the washing area.
Trustees of the Sri Sathya Sai Central Trust, Sri K Chakravarthy, Sri V Srinivasan, Sri R J Rathnakar and Secretary of the Trust, Sri Prasada Rao were present on the occasion along with the Director of the SSSIHMS, Dr Choudary Voleti and other senior personnel of the hospital.
