UGADI DAY CELEBRATIONS  AT PRASANTHI NILAYAM

It is said, one can feel Him first, hear Him next before having the coveted Sight - Darshan. At a time when the most beauteous form remains elusive for the myopic eyes, when The Beauty Beyond Compare Is missing from the human world, what best Prasanthi Nilayam could offer was the 'next-best', His most mellifluous voice of Supreme Wisdom, that gushes forth nostalgia galore. Truly, there was an electrifying Divine Divine discourse during the day that enraptured one and all.

As the morning today dawned with a special auspicious touch, with the colourful Ugadi hues, the Sannidhi curtains remain opened, lighting up hearts many, brimming souls with soulful feelings.

The morning proceedings began at 0820 hrs. with customary Panchanga Shravanam, listening to the annual forecast based on the Panchanga, delivered by Brahmasri Kuppa Siva Subramanya Avadhani Garu of TTD.

Bhagawan's electrifying Divine Discourse followed next, aired through the public address system. Bhagawan, narrating episode from the time of Adi Shankara touched upon the essential need of winning over the mind and senses, to be 'declared' as the real winner. The session turned out to be a torrential flow of wisdom, reminding one and all of the True Truth of human existence.

A musical bouquet, a string of devotionals by the Shivam musical troupe followed next presenting an array of Telugu devotionals that ended aptly with 'Oye Rama... Sai Rama...'

Bhajans next ended with Mangala Arathi at 1015 hrs.

The Mandir premises bore colourful festive decoration with the natural greenish “Pachchathoranam” – parading all over. “Pachchathoranam”is a sign of prosperity and auspiciousness, that is synonymous with the new year. As per the TeluguPanchangam this new year is known as Sri Vilambi Nama Samvastsara. Ugadi is the new year for Telugu and Kannada speaking people while Gudi Padwa is being celebrated today in the Marata region.
