Decorated with a golden tagline indicative of the supremely significant Divine benediction in the history of mankind, 20th October is ever remembered as The Avatar Declaration Day of Sri Sathya Sai Avatar. This day also marks the 8th day, Durgashtami, of the ongoing Navarathri festival that is special owing to Ayudha Puja, worshipping of implements.
Marking the doubly auspicious occasion, Prasanthi witnessed a plethora of spiritual activities today with the Yajna, Ayudha Puja, Akhanda Bhajan along with the Prasanthi Vidwan Mahasabha featuring the day’s schedule.
In the morning, Ayudha Puja was conducted at Sai Kulwant Hall, at 0945 hrs, symbolically worshipping ‘Sai Vahans’ that included the Golden Chariot, a tradition that has been in practice for decades.
Following this, a 6-hour Akhanda Bhajan was held in Sai Kulwant Hall, organised by the old students of Anantapur Campus, from 10:00 hrs till 1600 hrs.
Prasanthi Vidwan Mahasabha – Day 5 - Evening Session
In the evening, at the Prasanthi Vidwan Mahasabha, noted scholar Dr Medasani Mohan deliberated on Saraswathi Vaibhavam explaining the ten characteristics of Mother Saraswathi. Speaking in Telugu, the erudite scholar, with anecdotes from the epics, elucidated on the theme, explaining the ‘blissful ambrosia’ of Saraswathi Tattwa. Dr Mohan recalled the story of Valmiki, explaining how the sage was blessed with the Saraswathi Vaibhavam that finally blessed him to be the author of the epic Ramayana.
In conclusion, to the delight of the august assembly, Dr Mohan burst into a spontaneous poetic composition, singing the glory of Bhagawan Sri Sathya Sai.
Bhagawan’s Divine discourse followed, played on the public address system.
Bhajans next ended with Mangala Arathi at 1820 hrs.
