Students of Sri Sathya Sai Gurukulam, Rajahmundry presented the nectarous essence of Rama flavor in a drama entitled 'Rama Katha Rasa Jhari' this first evening of the Devi Navaratri festival, in Prasanthi Nilayam today. The presentation was a depiction of some of the most illustrious episodes from the Divine Drama from the Treta, presented from the context of St Thyagaraja's heart-wrenching love and pining for The Lord, leading to his final salvation.
A discussion at the bank of holy Cauveri involving St Thyagaraja, who was joined in disguise by Sage Narada and Bhakata Hanuman, set the backdrop for the colorful evening presentation. The ensuing discussion brought to life some of the most glittering facets of His Story from the Ramayana time, as revealed by Bhagawan HimSelf. To a distraught Thyagaraja, whose heart incessantly pined for The Lord, missing His Presence, the Divine Messengers brought inspiring tales from the life one after one, finally elevating the grieving soul to pinnacle of Divine Bliss.
Guiding a grieving Thyagaraja, helping to get closer to his chosen God, Hanuman shows him the episode of Lord Rama and Mother Kaikeyi on the eve of His coronation, wherein The Lord persuades the mother to connive against Him in the best interest of the world... It was a touching scene displaying absolute selflessness. Here, the Lord averred to the mother that, even if the world and people do not remember her, He HimSelf will remain eternally grateful. Other episodes this evening included, Lord Rama's intentional forfeiture of a game with brother Bharata..., Lakshmana's absolute surrender to Lord Rama exhibited during their journey through the forest, wherein Lord Rama asked Lakshmana to find out a suitable site to construct a temporary shelter, much to the heartbreaking of Lakshmana..., Hanuman's verdict at the instance of the Raja Guru revealing Rama Naamam as the highest.
Filled and fulfilled with greater wisdom, St Thyagaraja finally took a dip in the holy river, earning the supreme blessing of Lord Rama, that came in the way of Rama idol. The duo advised the sage to continue his devotional singing to Lord Rama to the final satiation of his soul. The presentation ended with a grand celebration of Sita Rama Kalyanam.
