Sri Sathya Sai Aradhana Mahothsavam

A minuscule of musical genii from across the country presented a unique Sai Pancharatna Kriti offering at the Sanctum Sanctorum this morning on the occasion of Sri Sathya Sai Aradhana Mahothsavam, in Prasanthi Nilayam. Sathya Sai Aradhana Mahothsavam, 24th April, denotes the withdrawal of physical frame of Bhagawan Sri Sathya Sai Baba. This is the 4th year after Bhagawan's physical departure.

Sai Pancharatna Kritis, fashioned in the popular Thyagaraja Pancharatna tradition, as the name indicates is a compilation of 5-gems set to five different ragas, focusing on different tenors.

The Kritis were: Pranamaami Sayeesha…Sadaa Bhavayami...,  Charana Sevanam..., Kaliyuga Avataari…, Sathya Sai Avatara Vaibhavam…  All the songs were composed by Dr R Vasanthalakshmi of Sathya Sai Mirpuri College of Music and music was composed by Sri Raj Kumar Bharathi, great grandson of illustrious freedom fighter and Tamil poet Subramanya Bharathiar. 22 gents and 20 ladies along with 6 girls participated in the hour-long concert.

“24th April is not an easy day to cope with”,  said Sri V Srinivasan, Trustee, Sri Sathya Sai Central Trust, while addressing the august assembly on the occasion.  We have to lead our lives super-charged with Sai, stressed the veteran speaker, exhorting the devotees to develop compassion, as exemplified by Bhagawan, in all walks of life. Calling on devotees to cast off all differences of various denominations, Sri V Srinivasan concluded his spirited speech reiterating and emphasizing that ‘Sai is Parthi and Parthi is Sai’, tagging it with a prayer to bless everyone with Unity, Purity and Divinity.

Bhagawan’s Divine discourse followed next, played on the public address system. The discourse, a narration of His own Story of Uravakonda days, highlighted on the theme, how Bhagawan gave a promise to His physical Mother Eswaramma that HE would never leave Puttaparthi.

Bhajans continued and the session ended with Mangala Arathi at 1045 hrs
