Christmas Celebrations at Prasanthi Nilayam:

Morning Programme:

Christmas Celebrations started this morning with the singing of Christmas Carols by overseas devotees of Sri Sathya Sai Baba, at 6.30 A.M. in the Sai Kulwant Hall. The Choir of over 100 choristers was conducted by Ms. Natrisha Choonilall, an Indian born South African settled in Prasanthi Nilayam.

This was followed by a programme by the students of Sri Sathya Sai Educational Institutions consisting of Band music and a presentation on the Story of Jesus.
The students of the Higher Secondary School presented their Violin Band, which was followed by students of the Sri Sathya Sai Institute of Higher Learning, playing favourite numbers on the Institute Brass Band.
The Story of Jesus and its spiritual significance was brought out by the students through Songs and Christmas Carols interspersed with commentary. This recital concluded with two children dressed as Santa Claus spreading goodwill and cheer by distributing sweets throughout the congregation

Evening Programme:

The programme commenced at 5.00 P.M. with Christmas International Committee Chairman John Behner introducing the speakers for the evening. Mr. Behner also thanked the Croatian led decoration team as well as Indonesian devotees for their efforts in the Western canteen in providing the Christmas dinner.
The first speaker was Ms. Sylvia Alden, from the USA, past conductor of the Christmas Choir at Prasanthi Nilayam, who narrated certain of her illuminating experiences with Baba.
The second speaker was a veteran devotee from Australia, Mr. Arthur Hillcoat, who spoke on the relevance and universality of Baba's message.
The programme concluded with excerpts from a recorded Discourse given by Sri Sathya Sai Baba in 1996, where he had revealed several interesting insights about the life of Jesus Christ.
