Christmas Celebrations at Prasanthi Nilayam - 25 12 2015 (Morning)

Christmas reminds one of the joys, greater joy of Oneness with Supreme Divinity. Recapitulating the epochal event dates back to over 2000 years, Prasanthi Nilayam today celebrated the birth of ‘Baby Jesus’ with pomp and devotional fervor attended by a vast confluence of devotees.

After a scintillating Christmas Eve and Christmas Dinner, when the auspicious morning dawned to its solemn beauty, the proceedings began with an electrifying Carol singing by the devotees from the United Kingdom. The lively session ensured the rare beauty and grandeur a Prasanthi Christmas morning warrants, nostalgic of the golden ‘Silver Door Darshan’ of the bygone times. Adding to the splendor of the day-break mass, a shining Cross with stand, studded with 108 candles, was placed facing the Sanctum Sanctorum, symbolic of the great-grant-solemn occasion.

The next session commenced at 0820 hrs., packed with a range of offerings by the students from Prasanthi Nilayam.

Violin Bands from the Primary and Higher Secondary Schools began the proceedings in succession playing slow soothing Christmas numbers infusing the solemn nostalgic touch. Live, exuberant Institute Brass Band played an assortment of special Christmas numbers next, thematic of the joyous occasion.

Serenading the Mighty Heavenly Father and His Heavenly Son, singing paeans, the Institute Music Band then presented a ‘Song-full’ session depicting the life of Jesus through hymns, interlaced with commentary, narrating the story of the most celebrated ‘Son Of God’.

The session, interlaced with interactions between Father, Uncle and Little Karen, attempted to capture the essence of the festivity, sending out the beautiful message that one need not wander around in search of God, as God dwells within. Life is meant to dine and drink, dine on the nourishing bread of the Name of Jesus and drink the nectar of His Divine Name. “We Wish You A Merry Christmas…”, “God Is The Strength Of My Heart…”, “God Is With Us… Emmanuel…” were some of the paeans.

Even as bhajans commenced, students made a beeline to the Sanctum Sanctorum, offering cakes and handmade greetings to Beloved Bhagawan.

The morning session concluded with Mangala Arathi at 0955 hrs.
