Prasanthi Nilayam today celebrated Sri Rama Navami, with a musical offering by the students of Sri Sathya Sai Mirpuri College of Music. Sri Rama Navami marks the advent of Lord Sri Rama, and has been a traditional festival in the Prasanthi Calendar.
This morning’s musical offering entitled “Ram Gun Gaan”, Sing the glories of Lord Rama, consisted of special songs on Lord Rama, and sung in both Hindustani and Carnatic. Some of the numbers were: Muche Darshan Deejho Prabhu Ram…, Sri Ramachandra Krupalu Bhajaman…., Tumak Chalat Ramachandra…, Raghuvasma Sudha…, Paluke Bangaramayena….., Rama Kodanda Rama…, followed by ‘Sri Rama’ bhajans.
Mangala Arathi at 0930 hrs marked the end of the morning proceedings. Special Prasadam – Panakam and Vadapappu – were served to devotees on the occasion, in the South Indian Canteen.
